Bajaj might soon launch India’s and its first quadricycle in October this year. The company first released the specifications of the RE60 at the 2014 Auto Expo this February.
Recently, a LHD quadricycle was spied meant for exports. The Ministry of Roads and Transport has mentioned that quadricycles will start plying on Indian roads after October. Production for the same will take place at the Bajaj’s Aurangabad plant to cater to both the domestic and the export demand.
Bajaj is ready with the RE60 with no plans to waste time in its launch. The quadricycle will come powered with a 216 cc liquid- cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine with triple spark mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a dashboard-mounted gear level. The engine will get three options- LPG, CNG and the gasoline variant (petrol).
The RE60 claims to achieve a top-speed of 70km/h with fuel efficiency rating of 37km/l and CO2 emission of 60 g/km.
