Having revealed the exterior details of the facelift Volkswagen Polo recently, we thought of confirming the much-speculated engine specifications of the facelift Polo, especially those of the new 1.5 TDI engine. The Polo facelift will be powered by the current 1.2-lt MPI petrol engine and a 1.5-lt 90PS TDI diesel engine. The 1.5-lt diesel engine will make 90PS power at 4,200 rpm and 230Nm torque between 1,500-2,500 rpm. The 1.5-lt TDI engine will also get a Variable Geometry Turbocharger as per the sales training document from VW-India.
Apart from the diesel engine, the refreshed Polo that will be launched on 15th July 2014, will get the same 1.2-lt MPI petrol engine that makes 75PS power. Torque numbers for this petrol engine remain at 110Nm at 3,750 rpm. The GT variants are expected to be refreshed by August and will retain their powerplants.
