French carmaker, Renault India, has only had one major success in India, that of the Duster SUV. But the company has planned to raise its current 2.5 percent market share to at least 5 percent in near future.
And for that, the carmaker is planning to launch 2 new products in the Indian market, one of which can be an ‘entry- level hatchback’ with an approximate price of sub-4 lakh rupees while the other can be the Renault Lodgy MPV. The small hatchback will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Eon.
The entry level hatchback is expected to launch in 2015 and will be made to meet the needs of the emerging car market in India. A concept model was also showcased in Auto Expo 2014. The entry level Renault small car might be launched under the Datsun banner as the company wants this car to be a high volume product.
Renault India is also planning to launch the Lodgy MPV in the Indian Market. It is expected to enter the market by 2015. It will target the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga buyer.
